CASJ co-founder Dr Alasdair Cochrane, who also lectures at the LSE, has published this fascinating article in The Guardian which analyses the sadistic abuse of pigs secretly filmed at the Essex slaughterhouse by Animal Aid. Alasdair points out that such gratuitous cruelty is a predictable result of the wider structure of callous abuse that is intensive meat production.
